Studying Law in Malaysia
Law is the study of the rules, rights and reasoning that hold society together — and an LLB builds sharp analytical, argumentative and research skills that travel far beyond the courtroom. Malaysian law degrees are English-taught and affordable, and some carry UK university links or professional recognition that support onward qualification.
An important early point: law is jurisdiction-specific and regulated, so practising as a lawyer requires further professional qualification in your country of work. But the degree is also a powerful base for compliance, governance, business and policy careers. YSTC will explain the route that fits your goals.
For international students, the appeal is the combination of a globally relevant, English-taught qualification, real affordability, and a welcoming place to live and study. Whatever you'd like to study, YS Training & Consultancy can help you choose the right Law program, confirm the current official fees, and apply with confidence — talk to us free to get started.
A note on the numbers: fees, rankings and intake dates change over time. We always confirm the current official figures with the university before you apply.
Ce que vous étudierez
A law degree (LLB) teaches you to read, reason and argue about the rules that govern society. You'll study contract, criminal, constitutional, tort and commercial law, alongside legal method and research. Many Malaysian programs are English-taught and some carry UK university links or recognition that supports onward qualification.
Commonly around 3 to 4 years for the LLB, depending on the program; professional qualification and pupillage follow for those who want to practise.
Carrières et débouchés
- Lawyer / advocate (after professional qualification)
- Legal adviser and corporate counsel
- Compliance, governance and policy roles
- Further study toward the bar or solicitor route
- Roles in firms, business and government
Law is a regulated profession, so practising requires further professional qualification specific to the country (and sometimes jurisdiction) where you'll work. In Malaysia, that typically means passing the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) — or holding a recognised qualifying degree — followed by a period of pupillage (chambering). A law degree is also a strong base for many non-practising careers. YSTC will explain the route.

Questions fréquentes
Can I become a lawyer in my country with a Malaysian law degree?
Law is jurisdiction-specific and regulated, so practising requires professional qualification in the country (and sometimes the specific jurisdiction) where you'll work. To practise in Malaysia, graduates typically pass the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) — or hold a recognised qualifying degree — and complete pupillage (chambering). For another country, you'd follow that country's own route, and not every law degree is recognised everywhere. Some Malaysian programs have UK links or recognition that can help. YSTC will confirm the route for your goals, free.
Do I have to practise law after an LLB?
No — many law graduates go into compliance, governance, corporate roles, policy and business, where legal training is highly valued. Practising as a lawyer requires further professional steps. YSTC can connect your questions to real pathways.
What are the entry requirements?
A recognised pre-university qualification and a strong English requirement (law is reading- and writing-intensive); foundation routes are available. YSTC will check your eligibility for free.
Which universities in Malaysia offer Law (LLB)?
